How does cosmetic textile work

Cosmetic textile is a textile article that contains a substance or a preparation that is intended to be released sustainably onto the different superficial parts of the human body, especially the skin ,and which claim one (or more)  particular properties such as cleansing, perfume, change of appearance, protection, maintenance In good conditioner correction of body odours. The market of cosmetic textile is quickly developing with currently a growth  rate of 35% per year on average .

The fibre contains a sufficient amount of cosmetic ingredient to offer the benefit expected. This cosmetic product is diffused via a controlled release method, due to the difference in pressure inside and outside the capsules, as well as by physical mechanisms, in particular the rubbing of the fabric during wear.” It is worth noting that, although highly resistant to temperature and washing, the active ingredients in the microcapsules run out after 100 washes.

A cosmetic textile is defined by the French Office for the Standardisation of Textile and Clothing Industries as “a textile article that contains a substance or a preparation that is intended to be released sustainably on to the different superficial parts of the human body, especially the skin, and which claim particular properties such as cleansing, perfume, change of appearance, protection, maintenance in good condition, or correction of body odours.”

Cosmetic textile is created by microencapsulating substances such as aloe vera, vitamin E, various plant oils, menthol, caffeine, retinol, ceramides, or minerals from seaweed, crabshell or seawater, and attaching them to a fabric. When the fabric is worn, the microcapsules gradually transfer to the skin, where they are opened by movement, pressure, or the effect of the skin’s natural warmth and enzymes, releasing their ingredients. The cosmetic ingredients are intended to moisturize, nourish, firm, or smooth the skin; to reduce the appearance of cellulite; or to cool or revive the area where the cosmetic textile is worn

The application technology of the microcapsules to the fabric is quality controlled and they are distributed evenly across the fabric. Quiospheres microcapsules are protected and unaffected by the impact of handling, mechanical stress and high temperature throughout the production process of the fabric."

. Beside the high quality ingredients, the cosmetic effects are released towards the skin through a unique two-step technology. The first step is the ‘transphere' of the microcapsules from the fabric, thanks to the special design of Quiospheres, which confers them a high affinity for the skin. The perfect affinity of Quiospheres is a key for the effective transference and the homogenous flow of feelings of well-being and wellness."
